Flat plate glass can be re-worked in the kiln taking on new forms and colours particular to this art: plates, bowls, vases, sheets for windows, lamps, doors, etc. Work is carried out in the following phases: cutting of sheets (colored and transparent); building up of forms by overlying sheets; preparation of moulds in fiber and terracotta; use of colours and glazes, firing, and working with molten glass. Each phase of the process is preceded by an introduction to the properties of the material and its various states in the kiln (daily progression). All the students will work on their own projects, which they will be able to keep at the end of the course.

Teacher Mauro Puccitelli
Lampworking allows the making of a great variety of shapes, without having to return it to the melting pot for its fusion: lamp working is the softening of glass rod and tubing by heating it in the flame of a blow lamp.
